Omega Speedmaster Day-Date in a Strainless Steel MoonWatch Case: This Speedmaster variant appears to use Lemania 5100 movement. As I am a big fan of the Lemania 5100 and the Moonwatch case it is obvious that I simply have to have an example of this watch!

OMEGA Speedmaster "125" c1973

Descriptions : Stainless Steel 12 Hour Chronograph with Date and 24 Hour Indicator, One important note about the dial of the 125... It is not apparent to the viewer when looking at a photograph (digital or film) that on many pictures of the dial of this watch it appears that the Omega symbol, Omega name and "125" are missing or faded. This is probably not the case. On this dial these items are actually metal or chromium colored. So if you don't see these details it is because they are not reflecting much light do to the conditions under which it was photographed. This watch uses the Cal.1041 Automatic movement Adjusted to 5 positions and temperature. Also the huge SS unusually designed case which comes with inner and outer case. Inner case which can be removed from the huge outer case is round in shape with the screw back cover and the front 'Tachymeter' glass crystal attached to it for holding the movement. This is similar to later model Speedmaster Mark IV which comes with a Cal.1040 movement, which is the same movement as the 1041 but is not chronometer certified. Water-resistant to 60 m, tempered mineral glass crystal. (Ref. : 378.0801 / 178.0002)

Remarks: This is a very special model which was made in 1973 for Omega 125th Anniversary (1848 - 1973) and this is why the watch is being called "125". Although it is not individually numbered but this is a limited edition model in which only 2,000 of this model were made and sold in 1973. This watch also carry the 1st Omega Chronograph movement which has been tested and officially certified as "Chronometer". The Cal.1041 movement is basically a Cal.1040 movement which carries the name "Chronometer". According to reference, this Cal.1041 movement was made only for this watch and has never been used again.

Omega Speedmaster Chronograph Day-Date cal.1045 in stainless steel from the earlier 1970's. Auto w/day date calendar, and 24 Hr sub-dial. Appears to use Lemania 5100 movement. Differing from the Omega 125 Anniversary Speedmaster (above) in that it is a 3-Register Watch with the 24 Hour dial located at the 12 o'clock position being the third register. This model is often confused with a similar model that has a case similar to the Speedmaster Mark II. Here are 1, 2 additional pictures of the model I am interested in... This model is Omega Caliber 1045 which appears to be based on the prolific Lemania 5100 movement. Case ref: 176.0015/376.0804
